Air Touch Balayage
AirTouch uses airflow to separate shorter hairs within each section. Instead of backcombing to separate sections, we use a blow dryer to push the shorter, finer hairs away. Only the longest strands are painted with lightener.

Uneven bands, an unwanted tone or a change from previous colour can call for correction work. Start with an assessment so we can see the colour and condition of your hair in person.

Seamless Gradient

Colour Melting
Two or more shades blended so seamlessly that you can’t tell where one ends and the next begins. Unlike ombré, which can have visible transitions, colour melting creates a fluid, liquid-like gradient from roots to ends.
It works with any palette — natural brunette-to-blonde, warm coppers, or creative tones like rose gold fading into lilac. Colour melting grows out softly over 6–8 weeks and requires slightly more frequent touch-ups than balayage, but the result is a seamless, flowing effect that’s distinctly modern.

Lived-In Colour
A softer root with blended brightness through the lengths. Your artist may combine balayage, highlights or tonal work to suit the finish you want. Explore lived in colour.
Root Melt
A shadow root or root smudge that softens the line between your natural colour and lighter ends. Root melts extend the life of balayage, highlights, or any lifted colour — and create a seamless, rooted look that’s effortlessly cool.

What happens at your colour appointment
Consultation
We look at your starting colour and condition, ask about previous services and talk through your reference photos. Tell us how you usually style your hair and the upkeep you prefer.
Custom Formula
Your colourist selects and mixes the Alter Ego Italy formula for the work agreed at your consultation. Your existing colour and previous services are part of that decision.
Colour application
Your artist applies the colour using the placement and technique chosen for your plan. We check the work as it processes and discuss any changes needed along the way.
Reveal & Aftercare
Before you leave, we talk through home care and the next appointment your colour may need. Ask which services and finishing steps are included in your booking.
Final price and timing depend on length, density, starting colour, and complexity. We scope the work first and quote it clearly before we begin — view salon pricing.
Common questions
Most custom hair colour appointments take between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the technique and your starting point. Colour corrections and complex transformations may take longer — sometimes up to 6 hours or across multiple sessions. We’ll always give you a time estimate during your consultation.
Yes. Our colourists and extension artists can plan the colour match together, including the lighter and deeper tones through your hair. Your consultation covers the method, blend and order of appointments. Tadas and Hannah do not install extensions; Veronica and our other extension artists handle installation.
We use Alter Ego Italy professional colour. Ingredients vary by product; discuss any ingredient concerns or previous reactions with your artist before your appointment. Your artist can recommend aftercare for your colour and routine.
It depends on the technique. Balayage typically lasts 8–12 weeks between visits. Air touch can stretch to 10–14 weeks. Dimensional colour and colour melting are usually refreshed every 6–10 weeks. We’ll build a maintenance schedule during your appointment that works with your budget and lifestyle.
Sometimes, but not always. Going significantly lighter, correcting box dye, or moving to a vivid shade can take more than one session to protect your hair’s integrity. During your consultation we assess your hair’s history and tell you honestly whether your goal is realistic in a single visit or better phased across appointments. Healthy hair comes first, and a phased plan always beats an aggressive single session.
