Soft Colour Melt
A liquid gradient version — a deeper root that melts gradually through a warmer mid-tone and into the lightest ends. What’s the difference between lived-in colour and balayage?
Balayage is the painting technique — how the lightener is applied. Lived-in colour is the overall philosophy — colour designed for graceful grow-out. Most lived-in colour appointments use balayage as the lightening technique, paired with a root shadow and custom toning. Think of balayage as the brush, lived-in as the design.
How long does lived-in colour last?
The colour itself stays beautiful through twelve to twenty weeks depending on the variant. Rooted blonde stretches longest because the soft root means regrowth blends naturally. Dimensional brunette is forgiving too. Soft colour melts last a bit less because the gradient changes shape as it grows.
Will lived-in colour work on my hair?
For most clients, yes. The exceptions: hair that’s been recently box-coloured (we’ll need to correct first), severely damaged hair (we’ll plan a bond-rebuilding sequence before any new colour), and clients who want a single-tone all-over result.
