Air Touch Technique

Air Touch Balayage
AirTouch uses airflow to separate shorter hairs within each section. Instead of backcombing to separate sections, we use a blow dryer to push the shorter, finer hairs away. Only the longest strands are painted with lightener.

Colour Melting
Two or more shades blended so seamlessly that you can’t tell where one ends and the next begins. Unlike ombré, which can have visible transitions, colour melting creates a fluid, liquid-like gradient from roots to ends.
It works with any palette — natural brunette-to-blonde, warm coppers, or creative tones like rose gold fading into lilac. Colour melting grows out softly over 6–8 weeks and requires slightly more frequent touch-ups than balayage, but the result is a seamless, flowing effect that’s distinctly modern.

Most custom hair colour appointments take between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the technique and your starting point. Colour corrections and complex transformations may take longer — sometimes up to 6 hours or across multiple sessions. We’ll always give you a time estimate during your consultation.
Absolutely. Our sister studio, Fluff Extensions Studio, specialises in custom colour-matched extensions that blend seamlessly with balayage, dimensional colour, or any technique. Whether you wear tape-in, hand-tied, or I-tip extensions, we create a multi-tonal match that looks entirely natural.
We use Alter Ego Italy professional colour. Ingredients vary by product; discuss any ingredient concerns or previous reactions with your artist before your appointment. Your artist can recommend aftercare for your colour and routine.
It depends on the technique. Balayage typically lasts 8–12 weeks between visits. Air touch can stretch to 10–14 weeks. Dimensional colour and colour melting are usually refreshed every 6–10 weeks. We’ll build a maintenance schedule during your appointment that works with your budget and lifestyle.
Sometimes, but not always. Going significantly lighter, correcting box dye, or moving to a vivid shade can take more than one session to protect your hair’s integrity. During your consultation we assess your hair’s history and tell you honestly whether your goal is realistic in a single visit or better phased across appointments. Healthy hair comes first, and a phased plan always beats an aggressive single session.
