Face-framing, partial, or full highlights?
Face-framing highlights concentrate brightness near the hairline. They can be an option for a smaller refresh when the rest of your colour still suits you.
Partial highlights focus on selected areas, often around the face, parting, and upper layers. Discuss how you wear your hair so your artist can recommend coverage.
Full highlights place dimension more widely through the hair. The amount of lightening and the final tone depend on your starting colour and the plan you agree with your artist.

Highlights, balayage, and AirTouch
Highlights describe areas of lighter colour; the placement and technique determine the finish. Foil highlights and hand-painted balayage can both create dimension, and a service may combine approaches.
