Fluff Denver Color Salon:
2016 Three Best Winter Hair Trends
The long Denver winter is upon us, which means we get to cozy up to a new season with some fun new beauty trends! Effortlessly chic hair appears to stay with us for a little while longer.
- “Barely there” ponytails were the perfect accessory to the Michael Kors Fashion show and I love this look for the Denver winter style season. To achieve this effortless look, Spritz-dry clean hair with some Alter Ego Hasty Too Ocean Mist and curl the hair with a curling wand (T3 Micro’s interchangeable wand is our favorite tool and is available at Fluff Denver) using 1” sections. Spritz again with Ocean Mist and rake comb your hair. Pull back into a low ponytail and secure with a clear no snag hair tie. Ask any Fluff Hair Artist for a demonstration to help you rock this look at home.
- “Barely Half Up” styles proved that the side swept bang is not in season. To achieve this chic bohemian style, work a quarter size amount of Alter Ego Italy Hasty Too Modeling Fluid in 50% dry hair. Work the product in your mid lengths and ends. Let the hair dry completely. Next, using your curling wand, take 1-inch sections and curl your hair. After you curl your entire head of hair, brush your hair (We recommend any Y.S. Park Boar’s Hair paddle brush from Japan). Gently back comb your Crown Section for added volume and texture. Take a 1-inch section on either side of your center part and gently connect and secure the 2 sections in the back of your head using a clear hair tie. Alter Ego Italy Salon Exclusive products are featured in many of our looks and Alter Ego Italy is available now at Fluff Color Makeup Blowdry Bar.
- Messy Twist is 2016 Winter take on the classic French twist. To achieve this look day old hair is best. Spray Dry Shampoo on your roots. Taking 2-inch sections, and curl the hair using a 1.2” barrel iron. After you curl your hair, brush all of the curls. Spray your entire head with a texture styling spray such as Alter Ego Italy Hasty Too Hi T Security. Using your hands, comb your hair back, as though you were going to put your hair in a mid-pony. Follow through to the ends of your hair. Slowly start rolling your hair in the direction you want the twist. Roll your hair until you come to your head. Pin into place.
